The 2017 Swazi Open Chess Championships will take place at the St Juliana Conference Center in Manzini from 24 - 26 November. It will include both a 6 round open swiss tournament at classical time controls and a 7 round blitz event. It offers a prize pool of R 23,000 across the various sections.

The event is expected to attract a number of top players from across Southern Africa. Both the open and the blitz events will be rated by both FIDE and the URS.

Dorm style accommodation is available on-site from R130 per person sharing per night and there is also accommodation in a nearby hotel with rates starting from R225 per person sharing per night (breakfast included).
